Magalí Brosio
Hello! I'm Magalí Brosio, a feminist scholar exploring the intersections of gender, human rights, and international development. I hold a PhD in Law from the University of Birmingham, where my research delved into the realm of indicators as technologies of global governance. Specifically, I focused on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and their impact on women's access to economic resources. You can read the abstract, table of contents and introduction chapter here.
My academic journey includes a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires and a master’s degree in Labour Economics from the University of Turin/Science Po. Both theses concentrated on inequalities, addressing the functional distribution of income and gender wage gaps in Argentina, respectively.
Currently, I am an Economist at the ZOE Institute for future-fit economies and the project manager for WISE Horizons and MERGE. These two EU-funded initiatives aim to establish a science-policy interface for dialogue, co-creation and knowledge exchange to improve and promote inclusive and sustainable wellbeing indicators.
My previous roles include work on gender, labour markets, and economic policy at the Center for Women’s Global Leadership (Rutgers University), Center for the Implementation of Public Policies for Equity and Growth (CIPPEC), and Unión Industrial Argentina. I've also worked as a research consultant for the International Labour Organization (ILO) and UN Women.
Outside of my professional life, I find joy in listening to podcasts, playing video games, and indulging in watercolour painting.
